I simply could not resist updating my journal now that I get the small window of opportunity to utilize the journal skin. I actually tested out like, five or six of them before settling on this one. Surprisingly, it's NOT Death Note! *shot*

Anyway, slowly but surely things are working out, and so that means I am suddenly finding myself free to creatively express myself via commenting and sorting through my pile of deviations. Hopefully my muse sticks with me long enough for me to finish up some of those projects I've been trying to finish up for AGES!

Real Life - Oooh the Pain

Yeah, so if you haven't noticed, I have been online. However, I have been fairly quiet as of late. I won't go into excruciating detail in order to keep this less MySpace-y and more dA-y, but things are sort of settling down now. I wouldn't say things are picture perfect (when are they ever) but certainly they are improving since my last journal entry. I have noticed that my real life friends (not all of course) are fairly oblivious as to when I have problems, since they often pile theirs on top of mine without realizing the pile-up is happening. Rest assured, I am taking care of myself as best as I can. If I've vented/ranted to you lately, thanks for putting up with me...I really appreciate it!

Speaking of Rants...

I'll try to keep this short and sweet. My nerves have been slightly tweaked from all of the real life mess, but I swear I've been talking more and more about my pet peeves lately. My poor Mello has had to listen to me vent about them on and off...and I truly can't say if they will ever truly get resolved. All of these instances (humorous or not) have actually happened to me...and I'm sure I am not completely alone. So to make it short, I'll just list them and describe them...and then wait for the mob to come and get me.

1. "I R GOD" complex - No, this isn't completely Light Yagami's fault. Doesn't it just push your mortal buttons when someone takes something you've done and draws over it or writes over it? I'm not talking about the asked for critique or the editing, I'm talking about the "I'm just doodling for fun" and the Art Major gods deem it hellish and draw over it. Guess what ART GODS...I R PRO WRITING GOD! I SHALL SAKUJO all of your hard work and call you bakas because I R ALSO JAPANESE KAMI! *shot* Another aspect of this complex is the intentional 'guilting' of people, also sort of associated with the "I R GOD AND SO STEW IN GUILT YOU MORTALS!" If you don't know this already/if you haven't learned this by now, it doesn't make you popular with the ladies/gents to guilt people. No, it often results in the opposite, and therefore you can't blame a humble soul like myself if I tend to gravitate away from you.

2. Along with the I R GOD complex comes the I R teh shit complex. Not to be confused with the I R god complex, the I R teh shit complex is the complex in which someone does NOT stop talking about his or her accomplishments or brags incessantly about their work. This does not include the unspoken feeling that occurs with an inferiority complex, since the person has to actually OPENLY FLAUNT their works purposefully. Being self confident is one thing, but being a braggart is just...wow. I'd love to stand here and feel inferior to you all day, but I have an appointment with my best friends, Low Self Esteem and Loser Complex. If I want to be proud of you, I want to be proud of you without you telling me how exactly I should be proud of you. If that doesn't make sense, it's because you've been bragging right over my inferior little journal.

3. Opposite the I R teh Shit complex is another fascinating complex I like to call "I R teh super shit". Opposite in definition but not in title, this complex is aimed solely at the people who tend to OVERLY put themselves down. It's okay to be humble, in fact, it's better than being a braggart in the long run (you get disappointed less easily and you have your own inward pride in your accomplishments that no one else can tear up because hey, they don't know about it!), but being an overly humble person can become what is known as obnoxious. Sadly, there is no definite cure. Perhaps hanging out with the "I R teh Shit" people will somehow create a neutralizing effect and then all we will have to do is deal with the "I R god" people.

Shouting the News!

I am extremely excited. Oh yes...my devious little trap has just landed me in a world of politics. I have now been assigned the mission to formally and quickly organize a special event on our campus grounds. SOME of you (who know me well) know what I am talking about, and others will be kept in the dark for as long as possible. This is mainly due to the fact that although I am personally sure that this will work, I have yet to cut through the red tape. Therefore, to those who know about the event, please keep it under the radar for now. IF IF IIIIF this gets approved, you will be the first to know! Please, even though you don't know for what, wish me luck...red tape is quite sticky and often involves several head-to-desk sessions that might leave me possibly close to brain dead.

As of right now the event is nearly approved, so once I have a clearer idea of what is going to happen, I will update this little section again. For now it just seems like a pointless little paragraph, so please forgive it!

Help Me!

I am gonna need your help for the next one. That's right, this next fanfic (once I finish the other one) is gonna take some audience participation. Very soon I will be posting what you will need to do in order to participate in this fanfic. However, if you want to have some things to think about first, here's some food for thought.

The fanfiction is going to be a Death Note fanfiction. If you don't like Death Note, feel free to not participate.
The fanfiction will involve you as a character. Think about your general description and the name you want to use. Keep in mind that looking like a Death Note character is okay.
For all those who are interested in participating, you will be asked to note me at a later time with your character information. Once you do this, you will be asked a randomly generated question. Your answer will determine your role in the fanfic, so choose wisely!

I've noticed that my one year anniversary is fast approaching! It's hard to believe that I've been on dA for almost a year now! I want to once again formally thank everyone who has favorited, watched, stalked, glomped, etc. me...I love you all and I can't even describe how welcome you've made me feel here on dA. I have made so many new friends here...it makes me extremely proud to thank my watchers and friends for everything they've done for me over this year. I sort of want to do something special for you all, but I really don't know what. I don't draw (I've had people basically draw over my drawings...even my pathetic little doodles, so I've sort of given up drawing/doodling unless I am extremely bored ) and I'm a slow writer...but I really do want to do something epic for you guys! I'll have to brainstorm over this next week and let you know what I come up with!
